Belgian cyclist Tim Wellens secured third place overall in the 2026 CRO Race, concluding the event on Sunday in Abu Dhabi with a solid performance within the peloton during the final stage. His consistent efforts throughout the race helped him secure a place on the final podium.

Wellens’ strong showing continued a successful season, highlighted by his recent victory at the Tour of Britain. During the CRO Race, the Belgian rider notably finished third on the Queen stage on Thursday, a result that significantly contributed to his overall standing.

The race was dominated by three riders who demonstrated superior form throughout the event. Tobias Svare of Uno-X Mobility claimed the overall win, while Antonio Tiberi from Bahrain Victorious took second place. Wellens finished less than 10 seconds behind Svare, rounding out the top three after they each played prominent roles in key moments, including the decisive stage 3 to Labin.

The UAE Team Emirates-XRG squad had a productive race beyond Wellens’ podium finish. Colombian rider Sebastian Molano captured victory on stage 1 and held the race leader’s jersey for two days. Other teammates also contributed strong performances, with Domen Novak and Rui Oliveira finishing in the top three on subsequent stages.

The collective efforts of the UAE Team Emirates-XRG riders during the CRO Race added to their successful 2026 campaign, pushing the team’s total victories to 74 for the season. This sustained success has helped the Emirati squad maintain its position at the top of the UCI WorldTeam rankings.
