The United Architects of the Philippines (UAP) Oman chapter marked its 10th anniversary with a formal celebration that underscored a decade of professional achievement and collaboration. The event took place under the auspices of Noralyn Jubaira Baja, Philippine Ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman, alongside representatives from the Philippine Embassy, the Migrant Workers Office (MWO), and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA).
Held as part of the chapter’s third General Membership Meeting for the 2026–2027 fiscal year, the gathering was themed “Movers of Progress 2.0 – A Decade Strong: Expanding Networks, Strengthening Partnerships, Empowering Progress.” The milestone highlighted the growth and development of the UAP Oman Chapter since its establishment in 2016.
A key feature of the event was a presentation by former chapter president Ar Darwin Pascua, who traced the organization’s origins, achievements, and significant contributions to the architectural profession within Oman. The presentation emphasized how Filipino architects based in Oman have actively engaged with the local architectural community, fostering a strong professional network.
Representatives from the Oman Society of Architects also participated in the event, noting the deepening ties and ongoing exchange of expertise between Omani and Filipino architects. The collaboration was described as mutually beneficial, providing opportunities for professional fellowship and enrichment.
Special messages from former UAP Oman chapter presidents and leaders of the UAP National office reinforced themes of professional unity and continuity. These remarks highlighted the members’ shared commitment to advancing the architectural field and strengthening partnerships both within the Filipino community abroad and the broader industry in Oman.
The celebration served as both a reflection on past accomplishments and a platform to chart future directions for the UAP Oman Chapter, emphasizing its role as a dynamic force contributing to architectural progress in the Sultanate of Oman.
