UCLA continued its strong start to the college football season with a 28-10 victory over Michigan State on Saturday, improving to 7-0 for the first time since 2005. The No. 9 Bruins dominated the game on both sides of the ball, outgaining the Spartans 443 yards to 156.
Quarterback Ty Dieffenbach, making his second start, played a key role in the win. He connected on a 63-yard touchdown pass and contributed to three additional touchdowns with his rushing attempts, helping UCLA control the pace throughout the contest.
Michigan State, now 2-6 overall and winless in conference play at 0-5, briefly took the lead in the matchup. It marked the first time UCLA was trailing since its 17-15 victory over then-No. 13 Oregon two weeks prior. However, the Spartans were unable to maintain momentum and have now dropped six straight games.
The Bruins’ performance solidified their position in the Big Ten standings as they look to build on an undefeated record, while Michigan State faces continued challenges as the season progresses.
