British far-right activist Tommy Robinson was detained and questioned by police at London’s Heathrow Airport over the weekend before being released after several hours. The London Metropolitan Police confirmed on Sunday that a man in his 40s was arrested upon returning to the UK from Russia.
According to a police statement, the individual was interviewed and had his communication devices seized as part of the inquiry. The detention was carried out under the provisions of the 2019 Counter Terrorism and Border Security Act. The man was subsequently released without further action.
Tommy Robinson, whose legal name is Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, publicly shared details of the incident on social media.
