The United Kingdom’s Defence Secretary Wes Streeting made his first visit to Kyiv on Wednesday since assuming the role, reaffirming Britain’s commitment to supporting Ukraine amid ongoing conflict with Russia. During his visit, Streeting and Ukrainian Deputy Defence Minister Serhiy Boyev paid tribute at the Wall of Remembrance in Kyiv, which honors those who have died since Russia’s annexation of Crimea in 2014.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky welcomed Streeting to the capital, expressing appreciation for the timing of the visit, which came shortly after another Russian attack. Zelensky highlighted discussions between the two leaders focused on enhancing cooperation to protect civilians from “ballistic threats” posed by Russia. The meeting was documented in a video shared on social media, showing Zelensky and Streeting greeting each other and engaging in talks.
