Ukrainian forces struck two warehouses belonging to Wildberries, Russia’s largest online retailer, in the southern cities of Krasnodar and Nevinnomyssk, marking a continued offensive targeting the company’s logistics infrastructure. The attacks took place overnight, just days after similar strikes on Wildberries depots in other parts of Russia.
Footage from the assaults showed fires engulfing the warehouse buildings, accompanied by thick smoke plumes. In total, 15 people sustained injuries—10 in Krasnodar and five in Nevinnomyssk—as part of the latest bombardment. Earlier attacks on Wildberries facilities over the weekend, including those in Tambov and Elektrostal, reportedly resulted in eight fatalities.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky characterized the operations as a strategic effort to bring the conflict into Russian territory. He asserted that the targeted hubs were involved in supplying the Russian military with crucial components such as drone parts and navigation equipment. Zelensky emphasized that Ukraine has extended multiple proposals for peace but that Russia must be compelled to engage in diplomatic negotiations.
Serhii Kuzan, chairman of the Ukrainian Security and Cooperation Centre, explained that Wildberries’s platform was being used by Russian volunteers to procure military-related goods. He stated the strikes aim to disrupt Russian logistics and interrupt the supply of dual-use technologies, critical electronics, and sanctioned materials to the Russian armed forces and defense manufacturers. Kuzan also highlighted the potential economic repercussions of targeting such a major commercial enterprise, suggesting a broader psychological impact on Russian society and possibly diminishing support for the ongoing conflict.
In parallel with the Wildberries attacks, Ukrainian forces reportedly targeted a Russian tanker and four cargo vessels associated with Russia’s so-called shadow fleet in the Black Sea and Sea of Azov, further intensifying pressure on Russian maritime logistics.
Wildberries operates as a marketplace for independent sellers, handling payment processing, storage, and delivery on their behalf. The recent strikes have disrupted activity for many sellers, who rely heavily on the platform for their income. Sources indicate that the network of sellers is now facing losses estimated at over £1 billion due to halted commerce and damaged infrastructure.
The continuing strikes on commercial and logistical targets underscore Ukraine’s efforts to weaken Russia’s military supply chains and exert economic and psychological pressure amid the ongoing conflict.
