Ukrainian drone strikes targeted multiple Russian industrial and military sites overnight, including oil refineries, logistics facilities, and a naval base in Crimea, according to Ukrainian and Russian officials.

President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that Ukrainian forces had carried out attacks on oil refineries in the cities of Perm and Ryazan, a logistics center in Ryazan, an export terminal and military plant in the Rostov region, and a naval base on the Crimean peninsula. Russian local authorities confirmed several of the strikes.

In Ryazan, roughly 500 kilometers (310 miles) south of Moscow and well beyond the immediate frontlines, Governor Pavel Malkov reported that industrial facilities caught fire during the drone attacks, and six individuals sought medical assistance. Meanwhile, in the city of Perm, located around 1,600 kilometers (about 1,000 miles) east of Ukrainian-controlled territory in the Urals region, Governor Dmitry Makhonin stated a Ukrainian drone strike hit an industrial site but caused no casualties.

The drone strikes also inflicted significant disruption on Wildberries, Russia’s largest online retailer, which was forced to evacuate its Ryazan warehouse. The company has sustained damage to at least seven warehouses in recent days, resulting in the loss of approximately 10 percent of its storage capacity. This has adversely affected tens of thousands of small businesses relying on the platform to sell goods and services.

These attacks highlight an escalation in Ukraine’s use of drones to strike deep inside Russian territory, targeting economic infrastructure and military facilities far from the frontlines. Russian officials acknowledged the damage but did not provide extensive details on the broader impact or any subsequent military responses. The strikes coincide with ongoing military operations in eastern Ukraine and reflect Kyiv’s continued efforts to degrade Russian logistical and operational capabilities.
