Manchester United have secured a £20 million multi-year training kit sponsorship deal with gambling firm Betway, marking what the club describes as the largest such agreement in world football. The partnership, which will see the Betway logo featured prominently on both the men's and women's training kits and around Old Trafford, represents the biggest standalone training kit or sleeve sponsorship deal to date.
The club had been without a training kit sponsor throughout the 2025-26 season following the expiration of their previous agreement with technology company Tezos at the end of the 2024-25 campaign. Sources within the club indicated that United waited for the right commercial partner amid a challenging period that included the club’s worst league finish in over half a century.
Betting companies are no longer permitted to secure front-of-shirt sponsorships on Premier League kits after a collective decision by clubs to phase them out by the end of the 2025-26 season. However, this restriction does not extend to shirt sleeve or training kit sponsorships, allowing United and Betway to finalize this significant deal. This partnership is understood to be Betway's largest commercial investment in the UK gambling sector since its decade-long run as West Ham United’s front-of-shirt sponsor.
Meanwhile, United manager Michael Carrick is preparing for his first full season at the helm, with the squad gearing up for a return to the UEFA Champions League. The club has bolstered its midfield with the arrivals of Andrey Santos from Chelsea and Youri Tielemans from Aston Villa in a combined £83 million spending spree. However, with the departures of Casemiro and a knee injury to Manuel Ugarte—whom the club had considered transferring—United remain keen to add another central midfielder to their ranks.
In addition to midfield reinforcements, the club is targeting improvements on the left flank, considering options at either left back or left wing. Strengthening the forward line is also a priority, with the intention to provide additional support to striker Benjamin Sesko.
The squad has recently welcomed back key players Bruno Fernandes, Matheus Cunha, Diogo Dalot, and Noussair Mazraoui from their post-World Cup breaks as they continue their pre-season preparations. United chose not to embark on a long-distance tour this summer, instead arranging a series of friendlies across Europe. After an opening loss to Wrexham, they recorded victories over Rosenborg and Atletico Madrid. Their upcoming fixtures include matches against Paris Saint-Germain in Sweden, as well as games versus Leeds United and AC Milan.
