The University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST) will serve as a sponsor and active participant in the second Autonomous e-Mobility Forum (AEMOB Forum 2026), scheduled to take place from September 7 to 9 at the Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC). The event, strategically hosted by Qatar’s Ministry of Transport, aims to convene government officials, policymakers, industry specialists, researchers, and academics to discuss the advancement of autonomous and electric mobility as well as sustainable transportation solutions both within Qatar and internationally.
UDST’s sponsorship underscores its commitment to applied learning, innovation, and collaboration with industry, reinforcing its dedication to supporting national initiatives that foster technological progress and contribute to the development of a sustainable, knowledge-based economy. The forum offers a platform for knowledge exchange among leading stakeholders to explore intelligent mobility, emerging technologies, and sustainable transport strategies.
Dr. Salem Al-Naemi, president of UDST, highlighted the university’s role in the evolving mobility landscape, stating that the sponsorship reflects UDST’s active involvement in shaping future transportation solutions through collaboration and applied research. He emphasized the university’s contribution to Qatar’s sustainable development goals, leveraging its faculty expertise and research ecosystem.
UDST’s participation will include presentations and panel contributions from several faculty members. Dr. Bidur Khanal, head of the Department of Aeronautical Engineering at UDST’s College of Engineering and Technology, will lead a session on “Future Developments of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles in Qatar.” His presentation will focus on the potential for UAV technologies to transform mobility, infrastructure, and innovation in the country. Additionally, Dr. Nagi Abdussamie, Dr. Zeina Rihawi, and Dr. Mira Abi Saad will join panel discussions on electrification and autonomous mobility technologies.
The university will also display a variety of innovative prototypes during the forum, spanning land, maritime, and aerial mobility domains. Exhibits include a Campus Mobility vehicle, the Shell Eco-marathon Autonomy Vehicle, an electric scooter, a prototype electric dhow, and a UAV. This showcase is intended to highlight UDST’s applied approach to developing smart mobility solutions and translating research into practical, sustainable applications.
The event aligns with the objectives of Qatar’s National Transport Strategy 2025–2030 and the broader Qatar National Vision 2030, both of which emphasize the country’s ambition to become a global leader in smart and sustainable transportation.
