Unravel Carbon, a Singapore-based climate technology firm founded in 2021 by Grace Sai and Marc Allen, has developed an artificial intelligence (AI)–driven platform designed to help large enterprises measure, track, reduce, and report their carbon emissions. The platform is currently used by firms across various industries, including mining, pharmaceuticals, and advanced chemicals, and serves as a core tool for the Singapore government’s monitoring of data centres and other critical infrastructure.
The company’s mission is to accelerate the transition to a zero-carbon economy, targeting the management and reduction of one gigatonne of carbon dioxide-equivalent emissions by 2030 across more than 50,000 companies worldwide. Unravel Carbon’s integrated solution consists of three main initiatives: enterprise carbon measurement, a decarbonisation solutions program, and AI sustainability agents that automate sustainability workflows.
The platform automates the calculation of Scope 1, 2, and 3 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, encompassing emissions across a firm’s entire supply chain, in line with internationally recognised frameworks such as the GHG Protocol Corporate Standard and the ISO 14064 series. Using the World Business Council for Sustainable Development’s action library integrated within the platform, clients gain access to over 150 proven decarbonisation strategies, enabling a streamlined transition from emissions assessment to actionable reduction plans supported by funding and timelines.
A key feature of the software is its suite of nearly 10 AI agents that facilitate various stages of sustainability workflows, including data ingestion, regulatory disclosure, and gap analysis against standards set by bodies like the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB), Global Reporting Initiative, and B Corp. For example, the platform can generate AI-assisted ISSB reports through guided workflows and perform product carbon footprinting at the SKU level. According to Sai, the platform’s emissions calculation agents have achieved a weekly task completion rate of 94 percent as of August 2026, significantly reducing the time required for comprehensive emissions measurement from several months to just weeks.
Serving a global clientele spanning approximately 10,000 facilities across 63 countries, Unravel Carbon’s platform manages procurement transactions valued at US$351 billion. Its key markets include Singapore, Australia, Japan, Southeast Asia, and the European Union. Notable clients include ABB, a Swedish motor company with a market capitalization exceeding US$100 billion, which leveraged the platform to expedite product carbon footprint calculations from a six-month process to minutes. Retail giant Ikea has also utilised the software to assess supply chain risks and governance.
In the Asia-Pacific region, the platform has driven measurable greenhouse gas reductions for various organisations. Millennium Hotels and Resorts identified 18 high-impact decarbonisation opportunities through Unravel Carbon, yielding potential savings of S$580,000 and a 16 percent emissions reduction. Insurance firm AIA employed the platform to map indirect emissions across 18 countries and 250 cities, informing revisions to procurement policies.
Beyond private enterprises, the platform supports a range of users in Singapore, from small and medium-sized enterprises beginning carbon measurement initiatives to listed companies complying with mandatory disclosure requirements and government agencies advancing the nation’s Green Plan 2030. The platform’s adoption underscores growing demands for efficient, transparent, and scalable climate action tools in the corporate and public sectors.
In recognition of its impact, Unravel Carbon received the Impact Enterprise Excellence Award in the small and medium-sized enterprise category at the 2026 Sustainability Impact Awards. Looking ahead, the company plans to expand its AI capabilities to include climate risk adaptation, forecasting, and quantification related to enterprise value by 2027.
