Four children and two adults were found dead in an apartment in upstate New York in what law enforcement officials are investigating as a possible mass poisoning. The victims, including Harper Harmon, 13, Hudson Harmon, 11, and twins Gavin and Gracelynn Harmon, both 10, were discovered alongside their mother, Sarah Myers, 44, and their grandmother, Amy Steadman, earlier this week.

Mechanicville police responded to the apartment on Tuesday after reports raised concerns about the occupants' welfare. Authorities suspect the grandmother, Steadman, may have administered a fatal poison to the family members, though no official cause of death has been publicly confirmed.

Brady Harmon, the father of the four children, expressed shock and grief after recounting his last interaction with them. Harmon told reporters he spoke to his children via FaceTime on June 7, describing the call as lasting approximately 15 minutes during which the children appeared “happy.” He had not seen his children in person since 2019 but was slated to regain partial custody starting July 1, following a recent court ruling. Harmon, who resides in Salt Lake City, said he planned to travel to New York at the end of June to bring the children home for a two-month custody period.

The family had been living in the Mechanicsville area, with Steadman residing in the home at the time of the incident. Details regarding the motive behind the suspected poisoning remain unclear as the investigation continues. Authorities have not yet released further information on the cause of death or any potential charges related to the case.

Law enforcement officials are actively investigating all aspects of the tragedy, and no announcements have been made regarding suspects or additional victims. The community has expressed sorrow over the loss, and support efforts for those affected are underway.
