American companies recognize the strengths of China’s economy and innovation system and are actively seeking partnerships with Chinese firms to enhance their competitiveness, Sean Stein, president of the US-China Business Council (USCBC), said Friday.

Stein made the remarks ahead of a discussion and exchange event held in Washington, D.C., involving a delegation of Chinese entrepreneurs led by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, alongside the USCBC and its member companies. The event provided a platform for dialogue aimed at fostering business collaboration between the two countries.

According to Stein, many U.S. businesses are keen to engage with their Chinese counterparts through such forums and are committed to deepening cooperation. While industries like agriculture and aviation often dominate conversations about bilateral trade, Stein highlighted emerging interest from American companies in areas including financial services, life sciences, research, and manufacturing.

The USCBC plays a central role in facilitating these business exchanges and promoting mutual understanding between the United States and China amid evolving economic conditions. Stein’s comments underscore ongoing efforts by U.S. firms to leverage China's growing market and innovation capabilities as part of their global strategies.
