K-STARS Empire Company Limited has proposed a biofuel power plant project in Myawady Township, Kayin State, with an estimated investment of approximately US$13 million. The planned facility aims to generate 10 megawatts of electricity by utilizing agricultural waste as its primary fuel source.

On September 9, Kayin State Chief Minister U Saw Myint Oo met with company representatives to discuss the proposal in detail. During the meeting, technical experts from Thailand presented comprehensive information on the project’s timeline, structural design, machinery setup, trial operation procedures, and strategies for power trading management. They also highlighted the anticipated benefits of the plant for the local community and environment.

Chief Minister U Saw Myint Oo engaged with the officials on the construction phases and the requirements for power supply and distribution once the plant becomes operational. The initiative reflects an effort to leverage renewable energy resources in the region while contributing to sustainable development goals.
