A delegation from the University of Technology and Applied Sciences (UTAS) recently completed its involvement in an International Summer Programme held in Kazan, Republic of Tatarstan, Russia, from July 4 to 19. The event convened students from universities around the world to promote academic collaboration, intercultural dialogue, and the exchange of knowledge.

Representing UTAS and the Sultanate of Oman were three students from the university’s Ibra Branch: Yahya bin Khalifa al Mughairi, Saif bin Mohammed al Jahdhami, and Al Hawari bin Rashid al Rashdi. During the two-week programme, they participated alongside peers from leading global institutions, strengthening academic connections and fostering cross-cultural understanding.

The programme included a diverse range of activities such as specialised lectures, interactive workshops, panel discussions, educational visits, and cultural exchange events. Participants examined current issues across various academic fields while gaining insights into different educational frameworks and cultural viewpoints. This comprehensive agenda aimed to enhance their academic expertise and improve their ability to collaborate and communicate in diverse international environments.

Beyond the academic curriculum, the students engaged in extensive dialogue with participants from various countries, cultivating long-term academic and personal relationships grounded in mutual respect. These exchanges played a significant role in developing their intercultural communication, teamwork, leadership, and creative thinking skills, thereby contributing to their academic and professional advancement.

UTAS noted that its students demonstrated the high standards and capabilities of Omani scholars through their active and positive engagement during the programme. They represented Oman’s cultural heritage and values while underlining the country’s achievements in higher education and the efforts of its institutions to promote innovation, excellence, and global participation.
