Veteran goalkeeper Ben Amos has joined Burnley on a one-year contract as the club aims to strengthen its squad for the Championship promotion campaign. The 36-year-old, who left Port Vale at the conclusion of last season, brings extensive Football League experience to Turf Moor, having played in over 300 EFL matches.

Amos becomes Burnley’s third signing of the summer following the additions of midfielder Ugo Raghouber from Lille and winger Llus Castell from Espanyol. His arrival comes amid changes in Burnley’s goalkeeping lineup after the departures of Martin Dubravka and Vaclav Hladky, leaving German keeper Max Weiss as the only remaining senior goalkeeper prior to Amos's signing.

Burnley head coach Nicky Hayen has welcomed Amos’s experience as an asset to the squad. The former Manchester United player expressed his enthusiasm about joining the club, highlighting the mix of youth and experience within the team. He emphasized his intention to contribute to the dressing room both on and off the pitch as part of the senior group.

Burnley is preparing to challenge for promotion back to the Premier League following their recent relegation, and the club’s recruitment strategy appears focused on blending established players with emerging talent to support that goal. Amos’s acquisition reflects a move to bolster the goalkeeping options while adding leadership and depth to the squad.
