Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice to lead Al-Nassr to a comeback victory over Al-Taawoun in the Roshn Saudi Professional League on August 29 in Riyadh. Al-Taawoun took an early lead in the match when Bassam Al-Huraiji capitalized on a rebound off the crossbar in the 12th minute, putting his team ahead 1-0.

Al-Nassr equalized just before halftime when Ronaldo converted a powerful finish in stoppage time of the first half. Five minutes into the second half, Ronaldo completed the turnaround by redirecting a shot from teammate Mohamed Simakan, securing a 2-1 lead. This brace brought Ronaldo’s league goal tally for Al-Nassr to 104, making him the club’s all-time leading scorer in the Saudi Professional League.

With the win, Al-Nassr improved to a perfect 12 points from four matches and moved to the top of the league standings. Al-Taawoun remains near the bottom in 15th place, with two draws and two losses from their first four games.

Elsewhere, Al-Hilal delivered a commanding 5-1 victory over Al-Khaleej, bolstering their position in second place. Mohamed Kader Meite opened the scoring for Al-Hilal in the 15th minute, and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic doubled the lead in the 29th. Al-Khaleej briefly reduced the deficit through Saleh Al-Amri in the 38th minute, but Al-Hilal restored their two-goal cushion with Theo Hernandez scoring just two minutes later.

Crysencio Summerville added a fourth goal before halftime, and Sultan Mandash sealed the win with a goal during stoppage time. Al-Hilal now has nine points, three behind leaders Al-Nassr, and will play Al-Ahli in a rescheduled match from the previous round. Al-Khaleej remains in 13th place with three points from four games.
