Video footage has emerged showing Vickrum Digwa instructing his mother, Kiran Kaur, to remove the knife he used in the fatal stabbing of Henry Nowak. The Crown Prosecution Service released the recording following Kaur’s sentencing.

The clip, captured on Digwa’s phone, features audio of a conversation between Digwa and Kaur in Punjabi. In the exchange, Digwa, 23, is heard telling his mother to take the weapon away from the scene of the crime. Subsequently, Kaur took the knife back to their family home.

Kiran Kaur was sentenced last Friday at Southampton Crown Court to three years in prison after being convicted of assisting an offender. This conviction stemmed from her actions to remove and hide evidence connected to the murder.

Digwa was previously sentenced on June 1 to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 21 years for the murder of 18-year-old Henry Nowak. During the trial, Digwa claimed that Nowak had racially abused him; however, this assertion was found to be false. The case has drawn significant attention due to the circumstances surrounding the crime and the subsequent involvement of Digwa’s mother.
