Aston Villa manager Unai Emery delayed the debut of new loan signing Alejandro Garnacho as the club prepares for its upcoming Asia tour. Garnacho, 22, who joined Villa from Chelsea last week following a season at Stamford Bridge, was not included in the squad that lost 4-2 to Spanish side Real Sociedad in a friendly match held in Walsall. However, the former Manchester United winger is expected to travel with the team to Indonesia, where the tour begins on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Villa are awaiting a ruling from the Court of Arbitration for Sport regarding the registration of 16-year-old striker Brian Madjo. Madjo, who arrived at Villa eight months ago in a £10 million transfer from Metz, cannot play competitively until he turns 18 in January due to FIFA regulations on the international transfer of underage players.

Madjo, a 6-foot-4 Luxembourg international, has drawn comparisons to Romelu Lukaku for his physical presence and playing style. He has already made an impact in friendlies, scoring the equalizer in last week’s match against Real Sociedad and netting two goals in a previous game against Walsall.

Despite his on-field performances, FIFA has blocked Madjo’s registration on the grounds that his transfer falls afoul of the governing body’s rules designed to protect young players involved in international moves. Aston Villa have contested the decision, arguing that Madjo should be granted an exemption because he was born in London and has represented England at youth international levels.

The club is currently awaiting the outcome of its appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport, which will determine whether Madjo can participate in competitive matches ahead of his 18th birthday. Until a final decision is reached, the striker remains ineligible to appear in official fixtures for Aston Villa.
