Visitors to The Kallang precinct in Singapore can now access a new mobile app designed to enhance their leisure experience by providing a range of interactive features. Launched in July, the app allows users to order food and beverages directly to their seats during sports matches or concerts, access live scores from multiple venues within the precinct, and engage with other attendees in real time.
The digital platform is part of a five-year collaboration between The Kallang Group and professional services firm Deloitte, aiming to revitalize the former Singapore Sports Hub and encourage more frequent visits beyond marquee events. James Walton, sports business group leader at Deloitte Asia-Pacific and South-east Asia, emphasized the initiative’s goal of integrating The Kallang into the everyday lives of Singaporeans and tourists alike. “How do you get people to come here not just when there’s a concert or sporting event, but to come down on the weekends, take part in community or wellness activities, and take advantage of all the leisure, F&B and retail options?” Walton stated.
Currently, the app serves as a comprehensive portal where users can browse and purchase concert tickets, book sports courts, reserve dining spots, and unlock benefits through the in-app loyalty program called The Kallang Kaki. It also offers navigation assistance within the precinct and details of daily events.
The Kallang area encompasses a range of key facilities including the National Stadium, Singapore Indoor Stadium, OCBC Aquatic Centre, Kallang Tennis Hub, Kallang Wave Mall, and the Water Sports Centre. A recent addition to the precinct’s infrastructure is the Deloitte Sphere, a roughly four-metre-wide outdoor LED sphere located near Stadium MRT station Exit A. This structure functions as a dynamic screen broadcasting real-time announcements, community projects, interactive fan engagements, and live sporting updates.
The app also integrates artificial intelligence to deliver personalized recommendations tailored to individual visitor interests, whether they are K-pop fans, food enthusiasts, or weekend recreational athletes. This digital enhancement is seen as a crucial element in elevating The Kallang to a premier sports, entertainment, and lifestyle destination, aligning it with leading global leisure hubs.
Since the government assumed control of the Singapore Sports Hub in December 2022, the precinct has hosted more than 4,000 event days encompassing sports, entertainment, and community activities, drawing nearly 10 million visitors. Upcoming major events include the Singapore Tennis Open in September and a concert by Canadian artist The Weeknd as part of his After Hours Till Dawn tour scheduled for October at the National Stadium.
