The VIVO Orchestra, under the direction of conductor Paniz Faryousefi, is set to perform at Tehran’s Rudaki Hall on Monday evening. The concert program will feature a selection of works by both Iranian and international composers, demonstrating a diverse range of musical traditions.

Among the pieces to be performed are compositions by George Frideric Handel, Edward Elgar, and Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, representing German-British, British, and Russian classical music respectively. The lineup also includes works by prominent Iranian composers Mohammad Saeid Sharifian, Mohammadreza Tafazzoli, Mani Jafarzadeh, and Hassan Rahimi.

The event will see Behrad Ali Qorchi serve as concertmaster, with Houra Joneidi managing the performance as executive director. The concert is part of VIVO Orchestra’s broader mission to present orchestral music and introduce a wide array of musical styles to audiences in Iran.

Conductor Paniz Faryousefi, who leads the orchestra for this occasion, is notable for being the first woman to conduct the Tehran Symphony Orchestra, a milestone she achieved in November 2025 during the “Simorgh’s Abode” concert. At 42 years old, Faryousefi holds degrees from the Tehran Music Conservatory and the Komitas State Conservatory of Yerevan. She currently serves as concertmaster with the Tehran Philharmonic Orchestra and is the founder and leader of the Novak String Quartet. Additionally, she has performed as a guest violinist with the New York Philharmonic.
