Vodafone Qatar and Al Meera Consumer Goods Company have launched a strategic partnership that integrates their respective loyalty programmes, iPoints and wafa, enabling customers to exchange and redeem points across both platforms. Under the new arrangement, Vodafone customers can use their iPoints at Al Meera retail outlets, while Al Meera members are able to convert their wafa points into Vodafone iPoints. This two-way points conversion aims to provide customers with enhanced flexibility and a broader range of lifestyle benefits.
The partnership is positioned as the first phase of a larger, long-term collaboration between the telecom operator and the retail company. Both organizations intend to explore additional opportunities to create integrated and seamless customer experiences that extend beyond their core sectors of telecommunications and grocery retail.
For Al Meera, the collaboration supports the transformation of wafa from a traditional retail loyalty programme into a more comprehensive customer rewards ecosystem. This development seeks to offer members increased options in how they redeem their points and engage with the brand. Additionally, Al Meera highlights its ongoing investments in technology, digital platforms, and customer data analytics, which are intended to enhance the personalization and convenience of the wafa programme.
Vodafone Qatar emphasizes that expanding the iPoints programme through partnerships such as this one aligns with their strategy to improve customer value and strengthen their offerings beyond connectivity services. Baran Yurdugal, Chief Operating Officer at Vodafone Qatar, described the initiative as a way to create more opportunities for customers to benefit from the loyalty programme through strategic collaborations.
Jassim Mohammed al-Ansari, Chief Executive Officer of Al Meera, noted that the partnership reflects wafa’s evolution into a more versatile loyalty platform. According to al-Ansari, the alliance enables customers to leverage the rewards they earn across both brands, integrating the loyalty experience into daily life more effectively. He added that Al Meera is focused on building partnerships that simplify loyalty engagement while increasing its usefulness and appeal.
The initiative demonstrates a growing trend among companies in Qatar to collaborate across sectors to enrich customer rewards systems and drive engagement through digital innovation. Both Vodafone Qatar and Al Meera view this partnership as a foundation for future joint initiatives that may further integrate their services and benefit consumers.
