Billionaire investor Alex Waislitz and his fiancée, Rebekah Behbahani, have successfully maintained ownership of a Toorak townhouse following a decision by the Supreme Court of Victoria. The ruling dismissed a claim brought by Behbahani’s sister, Venus Behbahani Clark, who had sought rights to the property.

The legal dispute began in 2023 when Venus Behbahani Clark initiated proceedings against her sister and Waislitz. She alleged that she had been promised the Toorak townhouse in exchange for transferring her shares in a production company that was created to support Rebekah Behbahani’s music career. However, after a nine-day trial held in February, Justice Claire Harris ruled that the purported agreement was invalid, noting that the deal’s terms, allegedly confirmed by a fingerprint signature made with a purple highlighter, did not constitute a binding contract.

In a joint statement following the ruling, Waislitz and Behbahani described the outcome as “justice has been done,” condemning Venus Behbahani Clark’s actions as “disgraceful.” They expressed gratitude for the support from their families, friends, business partners, and legal teams throughout the dispute. “They have challenged our family and endeavoured to cause harm to us,” the statement said.

The conflict extended beyond the immediate family when the Pratt family, Waislitz’s former in-laws, became involved. Heloise Pratt, Waislitz’s ex-wife and daughter of the late Richard Pratt, intervened in the case last year, asserting that the townhouse was not fully owned by Waislitz and Behbahani and therefore they lacked the authority to transfer it to Venus Behbahani Clark. The property was owned by Thorney Equities, an investment vehicle linked to Thorney Investments Group, which Waislitz established with seed funding from the Pratt family.

Waislitz and Heloise Pratt separated in 2014 but maintained professional ties for some time, with Pratt serving as a director of Thorney Equities until recently. Following the intervention, Waislitz reportedly paid the Pratt family more than $200 million to settle matters related to his divorce.

Behbahani, who performs under the stage name Behani, previously worked at KPMG and is known in the public eye for her appearances in the documentary series *Behind Behani* on 7Bravo. She and Waislitz share a child.

The legal battle over the Canberra Road townhouse, which highlighted complex family and business relationships, has now concluded in favor of Waislitz and Behbahani, affirming their ownership rights to the property.
