Walpole secured a decisive 21-0 victory over Milton on Friday, powered by a standout performance from senior receiver Shane Harrington and junior quarterback Blake Pileski. The game took place at Milton and marked a key Bay State Conference matchup between two teams holding identical 4-2 records.
Harrington, who has battled a series of injuries throughout his football career and has never completed a full season, demonstrated his resilience with four receptions totaling 99 yards and two touchdowns. Both scores came from Pileski, who completed all seven of his pass attempts for 129 yards. The Timberwolves took an early lead with a 45-yard touchdown pass from Pileski to Harrington in the first quarter, followed by a second 41-yard strike before halftime that built a 21-0 advantage.
Pileski praised Harrington’s ability to secure contested catches, noting his confidence in the receiver’s reliable hands. Harrington also contributed a 45-yard touchdown connection to senior Aidan Hoyle. Walpole’s coach Chris Sullivan highlighted Harrington’s versatility, pointing to his baseball skills as an asset to the team’s passing game.
Defensively, Walpole was dominant under first-year coordinator Matt Wassel. The Timberwolves forced three interceptions, including two by junior Jack Benner and one by Hoyle, disrupting an otherwise prolific Milton offense that had been averaging 34.6 points per game. Defensive standouts Zach Lamoureux, Jeremiah Colon, and Drew Cantrell were integral in limiting Milton’s scoring opportunities.
Walpole’s offense also featured a 2-yard rushing touchdown by Mason Falcone and a two-point conversion run by Chris Niclas. The defensive line, led by Sully Kittleson and Connor Vigneau, combined for a pivotal sack late in the game that helped preserve the shutout. Benner closed out the contest with a final interception in the closing seconds.
Walpole’s win solidifies the Timberwolves’ position in the conference standings and underscores Harrington’s determination to maximize his final season despite past setbacks.
