Warba Bank has marked the graduation of the inaugural cohort of its PULSE Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Genesis program, an initiative designed to enhance employee skills in continuous improvement and operational efficiency. The ceremony took place in Kuwait City on October 20, underscoring the bank’s broader commitment to workforce development and process optimization.

The program, part of Warba Bank’s PULSE initiative, involved specialized training in Lean Six Sigma methodologies, with participants required to complete practical projects targeting real operational challenges within the bank. The curriculum emphasized the application of the DMAIC framework—Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control—equipping employees to systematically identify issues, analyze root causes, implement solutions, and evaluate outcomes using data-driven approaches.

Graduates addressed a range of operational areas including customer satisfaction, risk management, waste reduction, process reliability, and workflow optimization. Their projects fostered collaboration across multiple departments, engaging process owners and support functions to encourage a unified approach to problem-solving.

Maali Abdullah Al-Rasheed, Chief Human Resources and General Services Officer at Warba Bank, highlighted the significance of the milestone, stating that the program demonstrates the bank’s dedication to transforming training into tangible improvements. She emphasized that equipping employees with Lean Six Sigma tools enhances their ability to deliver sustainable results while promoting a culture of continuous improvement, responsibility, and accountability throughout the organization.

Chief Operations Officer Layali Mustafa Al-Fahad described the graduation as a pivotal moment for the PULSE initiative, noting that it transitions from theoretical training to practical application. Al-Fahad explained that the structured approach enables teams to make data-informed decisions that address underlying causes rather than surface-level symptoms, resulting in measurable and enduring enhancements. Additionally, the projects reinforced teamwork by uniting employees, process owners, and support teams under a common methodology for tackling operational challenges.

Warba Bank intends to leverage this initial group of Green Belt graduates to establish an internal network focused on identifying inefficiencies, reviewing workflows, and supporting ongoing improvement efforts across the institution. By embedding continuous improvement into daily operations, the bank aims to strengthen its service quality and operational performance sustainably.
