Warba Bank has announced its sponsorship of the Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy’s participation in Kuwait’s “Waffar” national conservation campaign. The initiative seeks to increase public awareness around electricity and water consumption and promote efficient use of these resources, reflecting the bank’s commitment to corporate social responsibility and sustainable development.
The sponsorship builds on an existing partnership between Warba Bank and the ministry, which focuses on community awareness campaigns especially during the peak summer months when demand for utilities rises sharply. In connection with the campaign, Hamad Musaed Al-Sayer, Chairman of Warba Bank, led a senior delegation in a meeting with Dr Sabeeh Al-Mukhaizeem, Minister of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy. The discussions centered on ongoing collaborative efforts and the potential expansion of public-private partnerships to encourage more sustainable consumption habits among individuals.
Al-Sayer commended the ministry for its leadership in implementing strategic conservation programs and infrastructure projects, emphasizing Warba Bank’s continued support for national sustainability objectives. He highlighted the bank’s active role in extending the campaign’s visibility through sponsorship of events, including one held at 360 Mall. According to Al-Sayer, the event offered practical advice on how households and workplaces could reduce electricity consumption and better manage water usage, particularly important during the summer when energy demand spikes due to increased use of cooling systems.
This marks the second consecutive year of Warba Bank supporting the “Waffar” campaign, following previous initiatives that leveraged the bank’s digital and social media channels to disseminate educational content. These efforts featured ministry specialists who provided actionable conservation tips tailored to both households and businesses.
Warba Bank’s involvement aligns with Kuwait’s broader national development aims and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, reinforcing the importance of resource efficiency in supporting the country’s environmental and economic sustainability targets.
