Firefighters responded to a wildfire at Torduff Reservoir in the Pentland Hills near Edinburgh on Thursday evening. The emergency call came at 5:49 p.m., coinciding with a “very high” wildfire risk alert issued for east Scotland.
At the peak of operations, crews deployed six fire engines to contain the blaze. By the following day, three engines remained on site as firefighters continued their efforts to fully extinguish the fire. Authorities confirmed there were no injuries reported.
Residents living near the affected area were advised to keep their windows and doors closed as a precautionary measure against smoke and potential irritants.
