Alfreton Town suffered their first home defeat of the season as Warrington Rylands secured a late victory at the Impact Arena on Saturday. Warrington's Jawad Jebrin scored the decisive goal in the 78th minute, completing a comeback after the hosts initially took the lead.

The match saw early threats from the visitors, with George Waring nearly opening the scoring. A cross from the right found Waring six yards out, but his effort struck the underside of the crossbar and rebounded away. Alfreton responded strongly, taking the lead in the 23rd minute through Dylan Youmbi. Receiving the ball on the edge of the penalty area, Youmbi skillfully shifted onto his right foot before firing a powerful shot into the bottom corner of the net.

Alfreton had a chance to extend their lead when Jakub Kruszynski bypassed the goalkeeper, only to be denied by a crucial block from Warrington defender Dean Furman, who managed to turn the ball behind for a corner. The closing stages of the first half were lively, with Warrington pressing forward and going one-on-one at the other end, only to be thwarted by Alfie Roberts in the Alfreton goal.

The visitors drew level in the 68th minute from a corner kick. Warrington’s delivery caused confusion, and Roberts failed to secure the ball, allowing Wood to capitalise and slot home the equaliser. The momentum then shifted firmly in Warrington’s favor.

The match-winning moment arrived ten minutes later. Jebrin advanced down the left flank, reaching the byline before delivering a low cross into the box. Waring was on hand to meet the ball and smash it home, securing a 2-1 victory for Warrington Rylands.

The result marks a setback for Alfreton Town, who had been unbeaten at home until this defeat, while Warrington Rylands’ late rally demonstrates their resilience and ability to overturn a deficit on the road.
