The Oman National Center for Meteorology has issued an early warning regarding an atmospheric trough expected to affect the country from today through Sunday. The weather system is forecast to bring rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms primarily to the Al Hajar Mountains and surrounding regions, including parts of the coastal areas in the Musandam Governorate.
Rainfall intensity is anticipated to vary, raising the potential for flash floods in wadis as well as the occurrence of dust storms. These conditions may lead to reduced horizontal visibility, which could impact transportation and outdoor activities. Additionally, coastal areas along the Arabian Sea are expected to see increased wind speeds during the same period.
Authorities are advising residents and travelers to remain vigilant and stay updated on evolving weather conditions. The combination of rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds may pose hazards on roads and in exposed areas, necessitating precautionary measures to ensure safety.
