Bilal Chughtai, an AI safety researcher who recently left Google DeepMind, expressed urgent fears on social media that humanity might be approaching a point of no return. Chughtai warned that superintelligent AI systems exceeding human capabilities could emerge in the near future, but current methods to ensure these systems align with human values remain rudimentary.
