Crysencio Summerville has completed a transfer from West Ham United to Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal, signing a contract reportedly worth £12 million per year. The 24-year-old Dutch winger moves to the Saudi Pro League side for a fee of approximately £55 million, marking a significant pay increase from his previous £50,000 per week salary at West Ham to an estimated £230,000 per week.

Summerville, who featured in the recent World Cup, is set to join Al-Hilal’s training camp in Austria as he begins his tenure with the club. His departure is part of a broader summer sales strategy by West Ham following the club’s relegation from the Premier League. Alongside Summerville’s transfer, midfielder Mateus Fernandes recently moved to Tottenham Hotspur for £85 million, bringing West Ham’s combined sale income to around £140 million this summer.

Prior to finalizing the deal with Al-Hilal, Summerville attracted interest from several other clubs, including Roma and Manchester United. Although Roma reportedly reached personal terms with the player, West Ham rejected two bids from the Italian side. Manchester United also expressed interest in securing the winger’s services.

The substantial transfer fees from selling Summerville and Fernandes have provided West Ham with financial flexibility, enabling the club to secure the contract extension of captain Jarrod Bowen despite their relegation to the Championship. The club’s strategy reflects an effort to maintain a competitive squad as they prepare for the challenge of returning to the Premier League.
