Perth Airport has unveiled new concept designs for a major terminal redevelopment planned for completion by 2031. Designed in collaboration with architecture firm Woods Bagot, the project forms the cornerstone of a multibillion-dollar transformation intended to consolidate flight services within a central precinct.

Spanning an area equivalent to nine Australian rules football fields, the expanded terminal aims to accommodate a significant increase in passenger traffic driven by steady growth in travel through the airport. Current figures indicate that Perth Airport is serving approximately 18.4 million passengers this year, with forecasts projecting that number to rise to 30.8 million by 2046.

The redevelopment reflects efforts to modernize infrastructure and improve operational efficiency as Perth continues to emerge as a key aviation hub in Western Australia. By centralizing services, the airport intends to enhance the passenger experience through streamlined transit and increased capacity.

This initiative positions Perth Airport alongside other major Australian airports undergoing expansion amidst rising demand for domestic and international travel. With completion scheduled for 2031, the project is expected to play a critical role in supporting the region’s economic growth and connectivity in the coming decades.
