Weyay Bank has introduced an exclusive edition of its Jeel Card tailored specifically for students of the American Baccalaureate School (ABS), marking a new collaboration aimed at promoting financial literacy and creativity among young learners. The launch, held in Kuwait, featured the winning design from a student competition that invited ABS pupils to create their own version of the Jeel Card, blending artistic expression with education on financial management.

The Jeel Card is Kuwait’s first banking product designed for children and early teens aged 8 to 14. It aims to cultivate responsible money habits and a foundational understanding of saving and financial planning, all while allowing parental oversight through the Weyay mobile app. By merging creative projects with practical financial lessons, the bank seeks to equip younger generations with essential life skills and boost their confidence in managing money.

Amal Al-Duwaisan, Head of Weyay Bank, emphasized the importance of early financial education, stating that the initiative reflects the institution’s vision to empower youth with financial and life skills for the future. She highlighted the unique opportunity the competition provided for students to see their imaginative designs become part of an actual banking product that expresses their individuality and talent.

The collaboration between Weyay Bank and ABS extends beyond the card launch to include a series of workshops and educational programs that translate financial concepts into engaging, realistic experiences. Areej Al-Ghanim, General Director of ABS, noted that the partnership enriches students’ learning by connecting academic knowledge with practical application. She underscored the competition’s role in fostering innovation, self-confidence, and an understanding of financial decision-making from an early age.

Participants in the design contest were recognized for their creativity, with special awards given to the winning students. Weyay Bank also acknowledged the support of ABS administration, art teachers, and parents in encouraging and nurturing students’ artistic and financial skills.

Through initiatives like the Jeel Card Design Competition, Weyay Bank continues to invest in programs that prepare young people to be financially aware and capable, aiming to build a generation ready to meet future financial challenges with confidence and competence.
