Comedian Romesh Ranganathan, who recently featured in a prominent BBC advertising campaign, continues to strengthen his professional ties with the broadcaster while enjoying significant business growth. At 48 years old, Ranganathan remains the only celebrity to receive payment for participating in the BBC’s latest advert aimed at encouraging the public to pay the £180 television licence fee, a campaign that has sparked mixed reactions among viewers.
Ranganathan hosts a weekend show on BBC Radio 2 and stars in the BBC reality series Celebrity Traitors. His production company, Ranga Bee, produces the CBBC programme Go Get Arty and has completed two series of the BBC sitcom Avoidance. The company is also developing a pilot for a new Saturday night quiz show titled Panic Room, indicating plans for further expansion within the broadcaster’s prime-time lineup.
Despite some criticism of the BBC’s high-profile licence fee advert, which some viewers have described as “nauseating,” Ranganathan’s commercial ventures continue to thrive. Recent filings submitted to Companies House reveal the business growth behind his public profile. Vetty Limited, a company he co-owns with his wife Leesa, reported capital and reserves of £4.5 million, nearly doubling from £2.5 million the previous year. Meanwhile, Ranga Bee Productions holds capital and reserves of £468,000, according to its latest accounts.
Beyond his broadcasting work, these figures reflect Ranganathan’s successful expansion into production and entertainment ventures across multiple UK broadcasters, including BBC, ITV, and Sky. As he maintains a steady presence on air and behind the scenes, Ranganathan appears well positioned to continue benefiting from his association with the BBC while growing his broader media portfolio.
