Several new streaming releases across film, television, and music are set to debut this week, offering a diverse array of entertainment options.
On August 5, Apple TV+ will resume the Emmy-winning series “Ted Lasso” with its fourth season. Jason Sudeikis returns as the affable soccer coach who previously led AFC Richmond to the second spot in the English Premier League before stepping away to spend time with his son. The new season follows Lasso’s return to the United Kingdom, where he takes on coaching duties for AFC Richmond’s newly formed women’s team. The cast also includes Hannah Waddingham, Brett Goldstein, Juno Temple, Jeremy Swift, and Brendan Hunt.
Also premiering on August 5 is a new FX on Hulu series, “The Shards,” an adaptation of Bret Easton Ellis’ autofiction novel. Co-produced by Ryan Murphy, the show is set in 1981 Los Angeles and centers on a privileged high school senior named Bret, played by Igby Rigney, who becomes both suspicious of and fascinated by a new student amid a backdrop of paranoia stirred by a local serial killer targeting teens. The cast features rising actors Kaia Gerber, Hayes Warner, Graham Campbell, and Homer James Jigme Gere.
Prime Video will add the teen drama “Sterling Point” to its lineup on August 5. Created by Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, known for “The OC” and “Gossip Girl,” with Megan Park serving as co-showrunner and director, the series follows teenager Annie, who inherits her grandfather’s private island, setting the stage for unfolding family and personal drama.
In film, August 6 brings the concert documentary “Billie Eilish — Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour (Live)” to Paramount+. Co-directed by filmmaker James Cameron and Billie Eilish herself, the film aims to capture the immersive energy of Eilish’s live performances. Netflix will release the science-fiction thriller “The Last House” on August 7. Directed by Louis Leterrier, the film features Greta Lee and Wagner Moura as parents trying to unravel the mystery after their family becomes trapped inside their home for an extended period.
On the same day, Peacock will stream the romantic comedy “You, Me & Tuscany,” starring Halle Bailey as a professional house sitter who impulsively settles in an Italian villa, leading to a mix-up involving mistaken identity and a fabricated engagement. The film also stars Regé-Jean Page.

Musically, British girl group FLO is releasing their second album, “Therapy at the Club,” offering 16 tracks of R&B-pop characterized by smooth harmonies. Ravyn Lenae is gearing up to release her third album, “Blue Island,” featuring the viral single “Love Me Not” along with genre-blending new songs like “Handle” and a duet with Dominic Fike titled “Reputation.” The K-pop group Stray Kids will drop a seven-track mini-album called “This & That” on August 7, led by the energetic single “Run It.”
