Chicago White Sox relief pitcher Jordan Leasure underwent successful surgery on August 17 to repair a torn ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) in his right elbow, the team announced Monday. The procedure was performed by Dr. Keith Meister in Dallas.

Leasure is projected to complete his recovery in time for the start of spring training in 2028. This timeline suggests the pitcher will miss the remainder of the current season and all of the 2027 campaign, as UCL reconstruction typically requires an extended rehabilitation period.

This season, Leasure appeared in 18 games for the White Sox, including one start. Over 18 and two-thirds innings pitched, he recorded a 6.27 earned run average (ERA), with 18 strikeouts and eight walks.

The injury represents a significant setback for Leasure, who had been a member of the White Sox bullpen this year, contributing both in relief and briefly as a starter. The team will now look to adjust its pitching staff accordingly as it manages Leasure’s recovery process.
