Whitley Bay and Easington College played out a thrilling 3-3 draw at Hillheads in their Northern League encounter on Tuesday evening, with Whitley Bay securing a replay despite finishing the match with ten men.

Easington took an early lead in the 12th minute when Luke Pearn capitalized on defensive errors and a goalkeeping lapse to put the visitors ahead. Whitley Bay responded quickly, drawing level through a Mackenzie Sharpe header ten minutes later. Sharpe then turned provider, curling a precise shot into the top corner from outside the penalty area to give the Seahorses a 2-1 advantage.

However, Easington responded with a decisive finish from Aiden Stanton in the 36th minute to restore parity. The game took a turn in the 38th minute when Sharpe was shown a red card for an off-the-ball incident, leaving Whitley Bay a man down heading into the second half.
