The widow of television chef Dave Myers, best known as one half of the cooking duo The Hairy Bikers, plans to auction around 300 of his personal belongings on September 8. The sale, scheduled to take place at Special Auction Services in Newbury, Berkshire, will mark what would have been Myers' 69th birthday. Proceeds from the auction are expected to reach approximately £40,000, with a portion designated for the NSPCC charity.

Dave Myers, who died in 2024 at the age of 66 due to cancer, gained widespread recognition alongside his close friend Si King. Over his career, Myers built a notable public persona, and the collection up for auction reflects his varied interests and life experiences. Items to be offered include his motorbike leathers, trademark waistcoats, helmets, shirts, suits, and his outfit from the television show Strictly Come Dancing. The auction will also feature antiques, paintings, masks, works of art, and a guitar he acquired during his lifetime.

His widow, Lili Myers, who was married to Dave for 13 years, described the decision to sell these possessions as difficult but important. She emphasized that the auction is not about letting go, but rather about sharing a part of Dave’s legacy with his supporters and fans. Lili said each item carries memories and stories from their life together, and she hopes the pieces will find new homes where they will be cherished. She also noted the significance of supporting the NSPCC, a charity meaningful to them both.

Among the expected highlights of the auction are Dave’s Hein Gericke biker leathers and size 44 boots, estimated to fetch between £300 and £500. Helmets could sell for up to £150 each, and a lot containing his moustache comb—an item Lili said saw much use given his careful beard grooming—is also valued at £300 to £500.

The auction house director, Tomas Forrester, remarked that the collection illustrates the interesting and multifaceted nature of Myers’ life, demonstrating his passions both on and off screen. The event offers fans and collectors a unique opportunity to acquire personal mementos associated with the well-known chef and television personality.
