A 75-year-old West Virginia woman has been charged in connection with the death of her 76-year-old husband after allegedly leaving him stranded on a toilet for an extended period. Authorities reported that Margaret Rog was arrested on Tuesday following an investigation into the incident.

According to the Monongalia County Sheriff’s Office, the husband went to the bathroom around 3 p.m. on August 20 but was unable to get off the toilet without assistance. Rog reportedly did not seek help or intervene and left him unattended for approximately 19 hours. The man was subsequently hospitalized the next day and remained under medical care until his death on August 31.

Officials have not disclosed specific charges or additional details about the circumstances leading to the incident. The investigation into the case is ongoing.
