The Los Angeles Rams secured a narrow 24-20 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles in a closely contested NFL game highlighted by a late fourth-quarter rally. The decisive moment unfolded in the final minutes as Rams running back Kyren Williams broke through the Eagles’ defense to score a 7-yard touchdown with just over a minute remaining on the clock.

Trailing 20-17 with under four minutes left, the Rams mounted a 98-yard drive capped by Williams’ initial 1-yard touchdown run. The Eagles struggled throughout the game, notably failing to convert any third downs on 12 attempts, a factor that contributed to their inability to maintain the lead. Following the Eagles’ punt, Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford orchestrated a 79-yard drive over ten plays. Stafford connected multiple times with wide receiver Puka Nacua, including three crucial completions, and added a key 8-yard scramble to keep the offensive momentum alive.

Despite some missed opportunities and plays that did not go as planned, Stafford expressed satisfaction with the final outcome. “Plenty of plays where we didn’t get the result we wanted,” he said. “But we got the result we wanted at the end of the game.”

Rams head coach Sean McVay has experienced recent difficulties in closing out games with late leads, but this victory marked a significant turnaround. The win also ended Eagles coach Nick Sirianni’s previous 4-0 record against McVay. Sirianni took responsibility for the Eagles’ unsuccessful fourth-down attempt late in the game that could have extended their lead and potentially secured the win. “You go for it and you get it, great. You go for it and don’t get it, that’s on the head coach,” Sirianni commented.

Following the Rams’ comeback, McVay celebrated enthusiastically along the sideline. Reflecting on his halftime speech to the team, McVay said he aimed to reinforce confidence and focus: “It was just more of what is on my heart to just say, ‘Guys, we’re capable. You got to believe and we got to just string good plays together. Our defense is doing everything that they can to keep us in this game.’”
