The World Zoroastrian Chamber of Commerce (WZCC) Pune Chapter convened a well-attended gathering on June 13 at the Royal Connaught Boat Club in Pune, drawing more than 55 members, professionals, and entrepreneurs. The event was compered by Dhun Patel, Committee Member of the Pune Chapter.
Farrokh Bhathena, chairperson of the Pune Chapter, opened the evening by presenting the chapter’s annual report and highlighting its activities and accomplishments over the past year. The programme also featured a Member Spotlight segment showcasing entrepreneur Khushboo Tampal, a beneficiary of WZCC’s entrepreneurial support scheme, alongside youth members Khodayar Irani and Khodaram Irani.
Several prominent figures from the WZCC global and regional leadership attended, including Viraf Deboo, Global Director; Zerrick Dastur, President of WZCC India; Behroze Daruwalla, Global Honorary Corporate Secretary; Vistaspar Mehta, CEO of WZCC India; former CEO Aspi Antia; and Capt. Zarir Irani, chairperson of the WZCC Middle East Chapter, who was accompanied by his wife, Ferzin Irani. The Pune Chapter officially felicitated the visiting dignitaries during the event.
A central feature of the evening was a panel discussion focusing on wills, estate planning, and succession, moderated by Zerrick Dastur. The panel included members of the WZCC Lawyers’ Forum Committee: Khusnuma Nagwvaswala, Mehernaz Contractor, Maneck Kalyaniwalla, and Behnaz Nanavatti. The discussion addressed critical facets of succession planning such as the preparation of wills, probate procedures, the duties of executors, living wills, trust properties, and tenancy rights. The session concluded with an interactive question-and-answer segment, demonstrating strong community engagement on the topic.
Nauzer Batha delivered the vote of thanks, underscoring the event’s emphasis on professional development, entrepreneurship, and community participation. The programme reinforced WZCC’s ongoing commitment to supporting its members through educational initiatives and networking opportunities.
