Wimborne Town secured a commanding 6-3 victory over Havant & Waterlooville in a National League South fixture on Saturday, with Angel Diaz scoring four goals to lead the hosts’ offensive display.
The match started with Wimborne asserting early control, and Josh McQuoid opened the scoring in the eighth minute by heading the ball past the Havant goalkeeper. However, Havant responded swiftly, as Ryan Seager found an equalizer just eight minutes later by hooking the ball into the net.
Wimborne regained the advantage in the 29th minute when Diaz converted a through ball from Munn, slotting the ball past the keeper. The second half saw the hosts increase their intensity, beginning with Diaz scoring a curling shot into the top corner to mark his second goal. Diaz completed his hat-trick in the 63rd minute with another precise curling finish before adding a fourth by dribbling past a defender on the left side and smashing the ball into the goal.
Max Bustamante extended Wimborne’s lead to 6-1 in the 81st minute with a straightforward tap-in. Despite being well behind, Havant managed to pull back two late goals through Faris Khallouqi and Ryan Seager, taking advantage of some lapses in the home defense during the closing stages.
Wimborne’s comprehensive victory was driven primarily by Diaz’s outstanding individual performance, supported by key contributions from McQuoid and Bustamante. Meanwhile, Havant’s effort was hindered by defensive errors, though late goals prevented the margin from becoming more one-sided.
