Northern Bangladesh is expected to experience a noticeable drop in temperatures starting the first week of November, signaling the onset of winter, according to forecasts from the Bangladesh Meteorological Department. The prediction was shared by meteorologist Tariful Newaz Kabir on Friday as several northern districts have already begun to register lower temperatures.
Recent measurements indicate that Tetulia has reported daytime and nighttime temperatures below 20 degrees Celsius, while Rajshahi and Dinajpur have recorded temperatures ranging from 20 to 21 degrees Celsius. Similar declines have been observed in Rajshahi and Ishurdi, signaling a broader cooling trend across the region.
Meteorologist Kabir noted that temperatures are likely to decrease further once the current weather system moves through the area next week. The shift in weather patterns reflects the seasonal transition into winter, which typically brings cooler and drier conditions to northern Bangladesh.
Authorities and residents in the affected districts are advised to prepare for cooler weather as the region moves into the winter months. The forecast marks an early indication of the seasonal changes expected across Bangladesh in the coming weeks.
