The World Innovation Summit for Health (WISH), an initiative of the Qatar Foundation, will hold its eighth summit on November 29-30 at the Qatar National Convention Centre in Doha. Under the theme "The New Health Span," the event aims to foster a global dialogue focused on enhancing not only the length of life but also the quality, dignity, and equitable support of longer lifespans.

The summit will convene a diverse group of participants, including leaders from healthcare, government, academia, research, technology, innovation, the private sector, and civil society. Together, they will address the complex challenges and opportunities that arise from demographic shifts and rapid technological advancement in health systems worldwide.

Key topics slated for discussion include "The Longevity Dividend," which explores the societal and economic benefits of longer, healthier lives; "Financing the Cure," which looks at innovative approaches to funding breakthrough therapies; and "AI and Human-Centred Health," focusing on the integration of artificial intelligence within health systems to improve patient care. Sessions will also cover the future of fertility, examining cutting-edge advances and ethical considerations, as well as "Health Diplomacy 2.0," which seeks to enhance international cooperation on health issues amid global pressures such as climate change and population migration.

WISH aims to extend the conversation beyond clinical research to include the systems, policy decisions, and relationships that influence health outcomes. By placing Qatar at the center of this discourse, the summit reinforces its role as a hub for advancing global health innovation and shaping the future of healthier ageing worldwide.
