A 48-year-old woman was fatally stabbed in her home in Armidale, New South Wales, early Friday morning, police said. The victim was found with multiple stab wounds inside a unit on Rockvale Road at approximately 2:15 a.m. Emergency services attended the scene but the woman was declared dead at the location.

Vincent Raymond Blair, 53, was arrested at the scene and taken to Armidale Police Station. Authorities have charged Blair with murder, which is believed to be related to domestic violence. He appeared via online hearing for a bail application and was formally remanded in custody. His next court appearance is scheduled at Armidale Local Court on December 16.

NSW Police have called on anyone with information pertinent to the case to come forward as the investigation remains ongoing. Officers continue to gather evidence and seek community assistance to clarify the circumstances surrounding the incident.
