A Dubai-based Indian businesswoman, P.M.S., founder and CEO of an immigration services company, was detained at Thiruvananthapuram International Airport in Kerala on Thursday morning in connection with an alleged visa fraud case, according to Kerala Police. She had arrived from Dubai earlier that day and was taken into custody following an alert by immigration officials.
P.M.S. was subsequently handed over to Palarivattom Police in Ernakulam district, which had issued a lookout circular against her. Manjith Lal, Inspector of Police at Palarivattom, confirmed the arrest was related to charges of cheating and violations under the Immigration Act.
The lookout circular was issued after petitions from two applicants who claimed to have been defrauded of approximately Rs1.4 million by the company’s Kochi office, Inspector Lal stated. Although police have received more than 10 complaints against the firm, only two formal cases have been registered to date.
Preliminary investigations indicate widespread fraudulent activities across the company’s various offices, with authorities estimating that more than 100 individuals may have been misled or duped. Local Malayalam television channels broadcast footage of P.M.S. being escorted to Kochi, highlighting the emergence of multiple cases involving overseas job and visa-related fraud linked to the business.
P.M.S. had been recognized in the Malayali community as a self-made entrepreneur and recently received a Young Woman Entrepreneur Award from Kerala Tourism Minister P.C. Vishnunadh. Videos showcasing her lifestyle in Dubai have also circulated widely on social media. Authorities continue to investigate the scope and nature of the alleged fraud.
