Chicago police are investigating a sexual assault and robbery that occurred early Saturday morning at Rainbow Beach Park in the South Chicago neighborhood. A 44-year-old woman was jogging near the 3100 block of East 79th Street around 6:15 a.m. when an unknown man attacked her from behind, according to authorities.
The assailant is reported to have thrown the victim to the ground, sexually assaulted her, and stolen her phone before fleeing the scene. Police have described the suspect as a Black man in his 30s, of medium build, approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall, with brown eyes and short black hair. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a blue and gray shirt and jeans.
