Cricket competition at the 2026 Asian Games is set to take place at Korogi Athletic Park in Aichi, Japan, from September 17 to October 3. The event features both men’s and women’s tournaments, each played in the Twenty20 (T20) format, marking the fourth occasion cricket has been included in the Asian Games following its introduction in Guangzhou 2010 and appearances in Incheon 2014 and Hangzhou 2023.

India enters the tournament as the reigning champion in both the men’s and women’s categories, having secured gold at the previous Games in Hangzhou.

The women’s tournament will be held from September 17 to 22 and will involve eight teams competing in a knockout format. The quarter-finals begin on September 17, with the Indian women’s team set to defend their title against host nation Japan on September 18. The semi-finals are scheduled for September 20, followed by the bronze medal match and final on September 22.

The men’s cricket event comprises 10 teams and runs from September 24 to October 3. The participating teams are divided into two groups: Group A consists of Afghanistan, Japan, and Nepal, while Group B includes Hong Kong China, Malaysia, and Oman. These teams will compete in a round-robin stage, with the top two finishers from each group advancing to the quarter-finals. They will join four seeded teams—India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka—who enter the competition at this knockout stage.

In the men’s quarter-finals, India will face the runner-up from Group A on September 28, while Pakistan will compete against the runner-up from Group B the same day. Sri Lanka is set to play the Group A winner on September 29, with Bangladesh taking on the Group B winner in the final quarter-final. The men’s semi-finals are scheduled for October 1, with the bronze medal match and final set for October 3.
