Worksop Town secured a narrow 2-1 victory against Morecambe in a closely contested match. The game began with Worksop controlling possession and applying early pressure. Kian Harratt threatened the visitors’ goal following a well-executed move on the right wing, but his initial shot went just wide.
The opener came as Worksop capitalised on a midfield turnover. Oli Greaves quickly advanced down the wing and unleashed a shot that was saved by the Morecambe goalkeeper, but Harratt was alert to follow up and converted the rebound to give Worksop the lead. Shortly afterwards, Greaves doubled the advantage by slotting the ball under the keeper, concluding a strong attacking sequence.
Harratt continued to trouble the Morecambe defence, testing the goalkeeper with a long-range effort that required a solid save. From the resulting corner, Lewis Whitham attempted a strike, which was also denied by the Morecambe keeper.
Morecambe emerged with increased intensity after the interval, generating several opportunities to reduce the deficit. Their persistence paid off when Matt Daly managed to finish from a scramble in the penalty area, bringing the score to 2-1.
The closing stages saw Worksop defender Max Dearnley play a key role in maintaining the lead, producing a crucial save to block a potential equaliser for Morecambe. Despite strong attempts from the visitors, Worksop held firm to secure the victory.
