Two men have set a new Guinness World Record for the longest continuous game of bowls, playing for more than 36 hours at Newark Town Bowls Club in Nottinghamshire. Matt Noble, 38, and Jamie Croft, 37, began the match at 6:15 a.m. on Saturday and concluded at 6:17 p.m. on Sunday, totaling 36 hours and three minutes. This achievement surpassed the previous record of 32 hours and 34 minutes.

Throughout the marathon session, the players completed 435 ends, with Jamie Croft emerging as the winner by a narrow margin of 378 to 359 points. Noble described the competition as a back-and-forth exchange of “incredible bowls,” highlighting the high level of play sustained over the extended period.

The event also served as a fundraiser for Menfulness, a charity focused on men’s social wellbeing, with the pair raising £1,800 in support of the cause. The record-setting game drew attention not only for its duration but also for the physical and mental endurance required to maintain competitive play across such an extended timeframe.
