Wrexham secured their first victory of the Championship season with a commanding 3-0 win over Millwall at The Den on Thursday. The Welsh club, which had entered the match in the relegation zone, took the lead in the 28th minute through an own goal before doubling their advantage shortly after halftime.

The opening goal came when Issa Kabore delivered a low cross-shot that deflected off Millwall defender Zak Sturge and slipped past goalkeeper Max Crocombe. Kieffer Moore extended the lead in the 52nd minute, finishing low from a pass by Josh Windass. Jacques Ekomie sealed the win with a third goal in the 69th minute.

Wrexham’s manager, Phil Parkinson, praised his team’s performance, particularly recognizing the challenge of playing at The Den. “I’ve played at The Den many times and the one thing I know is if you’re not on it you’ll struggle. But we were on it tonight and looked dangerous going forward,” he said.

The win sparked celebrations among Wrexham supporters, who left the stadium chanting taunts aimed at the home fans.

Millwall manager Alex Neil expressed concern over the club’s injury list, which currently includes thirteen players. During the match, Casper De Norre and Josh Coburn were forced off due to injuries, further depleting a squad already affected by fitness issues. “I am concerned by that number of injuries. We need to look internally at what is happening. It is hampering us,” Neil commented.

The result lifts Wrexham out of the immediate relegation zone as they continue their effort to establish themselves in the Championship, while Millwall faces the challenge of managing their extensive injury problems amid ongoing league commitments.
